On Saturday, April 27, 2002 at 9:00 am, over 40 volunteers gathered at the West Perth Wetlands to plant 725 trees. The Spruce, Pine and Cedar trees were donated by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Clinton.
Chairman of the Wetlands Committee, Don Jones, organized the plantings and oversaw the volunteers as they eagerly went about digging and planting. The event went extremely well as the volunteers followed the layout plans that Don had provided. In just over 2 hours the trees were all planted. After the plantings, the volunteers gathered together for refreshments and home baked cookies provided by Karen McLagan.
